This study aimed to determine, through a systematic review, the main factors that can influence the peri-implant bone tissue one year after implant placement. To meet this goal the most relevant studies published in English between the years 2000 and 2013, with reference to the MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine) data were analyzed. As the search strategy, we used the following combinations of keywords: "peri-implant bone change over one year." 17 studies were identified in studies, but only 05 were part of the sample met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion stipulated. It is noteworthy that the main reason for the exclusion of the publications referred to the fact they do not describe the criteria for bone behavior adopted. It was concluded that the criteria for bone changes cited in the studies were: the presence of the adjacent tooth implant helping to preserve the interproximal bone crest in the region; interimplantar distance and distance-tooth implant; bone loss in the first 6 months after implant placement; reducing the maximum occlusal stress immediately after implant placement; splinting multiple implants; using the concept of platform switching; roughness (especially the middle) and the chemical treatment of the surface of the implant; Minimally invasive surgeries (eg flapless surgery) proved to induce a lower peri-implant bone loss; submerged implants favor the BIC (bone-implant contact) and decrease bone resorption around the same.

Este estudo objetivou determinar, por meio de uma revisão sistemática, os principais fatores que podem influenciar o tecido ósseo peri-implantar durante um ano pós instalação do implante. Para cumprir com esse objetivo foram analisados os mais relevantes estudos, publicados em língua inglesa, entre os anos de 2000 e 2013, tendo como referência a base de dados MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine). Como estratégia de busca, utilizou-se as seguintes combinações de palavras-chave: “peri-implant bone change over one year”. Foram identificados 17 estudos nas pesquisas realizadas, porém, apenas 05 fizeram parte da amostra, pois obedeceram aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão estipulados. Ressalta-se que o principal motivo da exclusão das publicações referiu-se ao fato de as mesmas não descreverem os critérios de comportamento ósseo adotados. Concluiu-se que os critérios de alteração óssea citados nos estudos foram: a presença de dente adjacente ao implante ajudando a preservar a crista óssea na região interproximal; distância interimplantar e a distância dente-implante; perda óssea nos primeiros 6 meses após a instalação do implante; redução ao máximo do estresse oclusal logo após a instalação do implante; esplintagem de implantes múltiplos; a utilização do conceito de plataforma switching; a rugosidade (principalmente a média) e o tratamento químico dispensado na superfície do implante; cirurgias minimamente invasivas (cirurgias sem retalho por exemplo) comprovadamente induzem a uma menor perda óssea peri-implantar; implantes submersos favorecem o bone-implant-contact (BIC) e diminuem a reabsorção óssea ao redor do mesmo.
