Mordida aberta anterior, Ortodontia, Hábitos bucais

It is defined as an anterior open bite (MAA), an anomaly with several characteristics that are different from each other and difficult to treat. MAA can be divided into two categories, being a dental one where the disorder occurs through the eruption of teeth and in alveolar growth. In skeletal MAA, we have a disproportion between the bones of the face. Its causes can be alterations in the lymphoid tissues, poor tongue positioning, child swallowing, incomplete irruption of the anterior teeth, and mainly by harmful oral habits. Its treatment consists of removing oral habits with palatal grids or spurs, as with fixed orthodontics.

Define-se por mordida aberta anterior (MAA), uma anomalia onde se pode ter diversas características diferentes umas das outras e de tratamento de alta complexidade. A MAA pode ser de origem dental onde o distúrbio ocorre através da erupção dos dentes e no crescimento alveolar e esquelética, onde temos os ossos face desproporcional. Podem ser causadas por anormalidades nos tecidos linfoides, incorreto posicionamento da língua, deglutição infantil, irrupção deficiente dos dentes anteriores e principalmente pelos hábitos bucais deletérios. O tratamento consiste na eliminação dos hábitos bucais com esporões e grade palatina e/ou lingual, quanto com a ortodontia fixa.
