Incidência de erros de medicação anestésica: uma revisão narrativa

The anesthetic procedure is essential for the performance of the surgery and, for this reason, it needs to be carefully planned and count on the care of the entire surgical team, so that the safety and the reduction of risks and harm to the patient is guaranteed. In Brazil, this procedure is deprived of the anesthesiologist, whereas the nursing team of the surgical center has the function of assisting the physician during such activities. However, however much care and planning are done, the existence of errors at the time of administering anesthesia are not rare, therefore it deserves that the subject is fed and treated with due importance. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify the most common causes that lead to errors in anesthetic medication, aiming to point out, according to the literature, ways to minimize or even mitigate this type of occurrence. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the methodology used was the narrative literature review, using several studies published in the databases of Pubmed, Scielo and Pubs.asahq, in which the following descriptors were used: "Practice", "anesthetic", "Preoperative", "intraoperative", "anesthesia", "surgery". The study concluded that the most common cause for this type of error is failure to administer the medicinal product, which is why an effective strategy needs to be developed to ensure patient safety and the good work done by the health professional.

O procedimento anestésico é fundamental para a realização da cirurgia e, por esse motivo, precisa ser cuidadosamente planejado e contar com os cuidados de toda a equipe cirúrgica, visando, assim, a segurança e a redução dos riscos e danos ao paciente. No Brasil, tal procedimento é privativo do médico anestesiologista. Já a equipe de enfermagem do centro cirúrgico tem a função de auxiliar o médico durante tais atividades. Entretanto, por mais que cuidados e planejamentos sejam feitos, a existência de erros no momento de ministrar a anestesia não são raros, merecendo, portanto, que o tema seja abordado e tratado com a devida importância. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo buscou identificar as causas mais comuns que propiciam os erros na medicação anestésica, visando, assim, apontar, de acordo com a literatura, meios de minimizar ou, até mesmo, mitigar este tipo de ocorrência. A fim de alcançar o objetivo proposto, a metodologia utilizada foi a revisão narrativa de literatura, com a utilização de diversos estudos publicados nos bancos de dados da Pubmed, Scielo e Pubs.asahq, nos quais foram utilizados os seguintes descritores: “practice”, “anesthetic”, “Preoperative”, “intraoperative”, “anestesia”, “surgery”. Concluiu-se, com esse estudo, que a causa mais comum, na ocorrência deste tipo de erro, é a falha na administração do medicamento, motivo pelo qual é preciso que se elabore uma estratégia eficaz, a fim de garantir a segurança do paciente e o bom trabalho exercido pelo profissional da saúde.
